Grain Marketing

The main focus of VKB’s Grain Marketing department is to render a comprehensive service to producers, grain dealers, millers, animal feeds plants, international traders and other processors of grain products. This service, which complies with the needs of VKB’s clients, is supported by effective systems, procedures and a SAFEX site.

The specific focal areas of this highly dynamic environment include the following:

Producer-oriented products and strategies for maximizing profit. These products include:

• Fixed-price contracts
• Floor price contracts
• Minimum/Maximum contracts
• Deferred price contract with floor price
• Deferred price contract without floor price
• Own hedging provided by VKB's broker service.

Grain sales to a variety of clients such as grain dealers and millers. This is done by rendering the following services:

• Ex-silo purchases
• Delivered goods pricing
• Pre-priced contracts
• Price risk management

A SAFEX futures exchange brokering service rendered by experts specializing in future contract and options that is traded on the JSE.
